Who we are
Gently: A Soft Daily Planner (Gently) is operated by Lion Glow Pte. Ltd., Block 10, Level 14, 10 Sims Drive, Singapore. For anything about your privacy, or to make a request about your data, write to jeffduhong@lion-glow.com.
What we collect
What you put in: your nickname and avatar; your tasks with their titles, dates, tags and notes; your daily reviews and their ratings; focus sessions; the Spark cards you draw; and your settings. If you sign in, the provider you used, your display name and your email address. When you use voice input, the recording is handled only to turn it into text and is not stored. What the app records on its own: which screens you open and how long you stay, unless you turn Usage Analytics off. If you allow notifications, the push token iOS gives your device, and which of our notifications you opened. Anyone can turn Apple Calendar on. Gently then reads the events with a time on your own calendars, leaving out birthdays, holidays and other subscribed calendars, and turns each one into a task on its day, with its title, date and time; that task is kept on the Planner service like any other task. If you have Pro and also turn on showing your plan in Calendar, Gently writes your task titles and times into a calendar of its own called Gently and changes nothing in your other calendars. We do not collect your contacts, your location or your photos.
How we use it
To run the planner for you: to show your days, keep your tasks, build your insights, and send the task and focus reminders you switch on. To send the notifications you choose to receive from Gently: reminders about your own plans, and, only if you opt in, tips and new features. To answer you when you write to the assistant. To keep the service working and to find faults. We do not use any of it for third-party advertising, and we do not build profiles to sell.
The AI assistant
When you write to the assistant, what leaves the app is your message, your recent conversation with it, and the titles, dates and status of your open tasks — that last part is what lets "move that one to Friday" work. When you use voice input, the recording leaves the app so that it can be turned into text. That is the whole list: your notes, your daily reviews, your focus sessions, your Spark cards and your account details stay where they are, and nothing leaves at all until you have allowed the assistant in the app. None of it is used to train any AI model, none of it is sold or used for advertising, and none of it is kept for longer than 30 days, where it is held only so that abuse can be checked for. The assistant is not told who you are either: the request is sent by the Planner service rather than by your phone, and it carries no name, no email address, no account and no device identifier — only the words you chose to write. The service that generates the replies and turns your recording into text is OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., United States), under its API data processing terms, which hold it to everything described here. You can withdraw your permission at any time with the AI Assistant switch in Settings › Privacy & Data, and the rest of Gently works without the assistant.
Our legal bases
Where the GDPR applies: running the planner for you is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Keeping the service secure and working is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)). Usage Analytics and the AI Assistant are consent, which you give and withdraw with the switches in Privacy & Data, and notifications from Gently are consent, which you give and withdraw in Settings › Notifications (Article 6(1)(a)).
Who else sees it
Amazon Web Services hosts the Planner service. OpenAI receives data only for the assistant, and only after you allow it in the app; the section above says exactly what it receives and what it never receives. Signing in involves Google or Apple, who confirm who you are; they never receive your planner records. Apple delivers the notifications we send, so it receives the push token of your device and the words of each notification, which never include your task titles or notes. That is the complete list — we do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context advertising.
Where it is processed
Everything is processed in the United States. The Planner service runs on Amazon Web Services in Oregon, and OpenAI processes assistant and voice data in the United States. Your data is not stored in Singapore; Lion Glow is a Singapore company, but the records themselves never sit there.
How long we keep it
Six months from the day a record is created, after which it is deleted. You can export or delete your data at any time before then, from Privacy & Data, and deleting your account removes everything tied to it.
Your rights
If the GDPR applies to you: you may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop a particular use, take your data elsewhere, and withdraw a consent you gave. You may also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California: you may ask what we hold, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of sale or sharing — we do neither. Write to jeffduhong@lion-glow.com and we will answer within the time the law allows.
Children
Gently is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date below and, when the change is significant, tell you in the app.
Effective
October 2026. The published version of this policy is at lion-glow.com/privacy.
